Goldmund Eidos Reference Blue

Quick Overview

GOLDMUND Eidos Reference Blue Player

The Goldmund Reference line offers mythical products that have become collectors’ items of extreme rarity and value. The legend started with the Goldmund Reference turntable in 1982 and then, in the digital domain, with the Goldmund Eidos Reference CD and DVD player in 2007. Today, Goldmund presents the Eidos Reference Blue, a version providing the playback of BluRay discs in addition to the DVD and CD playback of extreme quality already present in its famous predecessor. Designed on a similar base as the Eidos Reference, this player is available as a limited series of 50 units, all hand-built, at the Goldmund Geneva factory. There is a reason why the Eidos Reference Blue pushes technology above any existing levels. It is because our specialists made absolutely no compromise between the quality and refinement of the finish, the exceptional mechanical construction and the cost. The Eidos Reference brings all the attributes of a phenomenal sonic masterpiece. Its mechanical grounding construction is enhanced by a sturdier table support. Heavily damped brass and aluminum mechanism enclosure (30kg) suspended on 4 spring-loaded suspension pods have been added to its structure to cancel negative effects of vibrations. Its external aluminum transport rigidifying structure cancels spurious vibrations. The built-in stabilized power supply uses the Goldmund AC-Curator circuitry. It is totally separated from the mechanism by the top of the table support. The Eidos Reference Blue also includes the Goldmund “Magnetic Damping” technology that considerably improves the image stability and sound transparency. In a spirit of continuity, and to satisfy the demand of our most faithful customers, our Eidos Reference Blue has been designed to allow an easy upgrade from the Eidos Reference.
